Fried Egg Cheeseburgers

Fried Egg Skillet Cheeseburgers

My roommate and I decided to go with cheeseburgers the other night. I have not enjoyed a fried egg on a burger in a while so we decided to fry some eggs up. Good thing an egg yolk is full of cholesterol.

Burgers

We had some left over ground sirloin so we made a mini Tabasco burger. It was awful so don't do this.

Cast iron skillet w/ butter

Fixin's

Kroger Eggs

Mini skillet for fried eggs. This thing is awesome. I highly recommend one of these if you like fried eggs,

I decided to go with 2 burgers because I was starving. I remember moving a little slower the next day but it was worth it. I personally like to dip my burger into the busted egg yolk and use it like it is ketchup. Something about a fried egg and a burger just goes well together.

Abita Andygator = great beer that will sneak up on you

My roommate decided to go with one burger which was probably a good call. The pictures speak for themselves. If you like fried eggs and have never put one on a burger then do it next time you cook one or order it at a restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Kent's Cajun Kitchen

Kent's Cajun Kitchen

Kent's Cajun Kitchen is a brand new restaurant that you need to try. We got take out the other night and I was pretty impressed. Now that Good Time Deli is no longer here I have been missing a place to go get a shrimp poboy, but now I have found one. It is little pricey but definitely worth a try.

Kent's Cajun Kitchen | Authentic Cajun Cuisine

The menu is pretty exciting. I was going to get the stuffed pepper but they didn't have it due to just opening. I plan on being back to test it out.

Grilled Shrimp Poboy. Please notice the fried green tomatoes on the bottom.

I went with Shrimp Poboy w/ Fried Green Tomato and Crawfish Sauce. You need to get the crawfish sauce on anything you order. Thank me later.

Erin got the Grilled Salmon w/ baked potato. She is a sucker for salmon and gets pretty much every time it is on a menu. I tasted it and was pretty impressed.

My old roommate went with the Soft Shell Crab Poboy w/ Fried Green Tomato and Crawfish Sauce. He was pretty impressed and I was pretty jealous of the fried crab. The sweet lady taking our order over the phone talked us into the crawfish sauce and fried green tomatoes. Big thanks to her for letting us know the drill.

Beagle Bagel - Highland Village

Beagle Bagel - Breakfast

Beagle Bagel now has 3 locations around the Jacksons area. I went the other morning to grab some quick breakfast before the moving began. I have been pretty busy lately with moving into my house so I apologize for the lack of posting. This was my first time to have Beagle Bagel for breakfast and it was pretty good. From my experience their lunch is a better choice.

Ham Egg and Cheese on Asiago Cheese Bagel

Sausage Egg and Cheese on Sourdough Bagel. I feel like I could have ordered better. Mine was just okay but I will probably get a little more creative next time around. Their chicken salad bagel at lunch is usually my go to. Beagle Bagel is definitely worth a try.

Brent's - Fondren

Brent's Drug Store

Brent's Drug Store has been a Jackson staple lunch spot for years. It has an old timer diner feel and serves delicious burgers and shakes. This is one of my favorite lunch spots in Jackson. It used to be a pharmacy but has been renovated to provide more seating and a bigger kitchen so now it is strictly a restaurant/gift shop.

Facebook - Brent's Facebook page

It's hard not to grab some of this stuff when you leave....

Simple menu with lots of great options. Five things you need to focus on....

1. Cheeseburger 2. Tuna Melt 3. Philly Cheesesteak 4. Cheese Soup 5. Milkshakes

I honestly can't think of a better place to cure a hangover. Maybe that is why it was so packed out on Saturday....

Swenson's Cheese Soup. The best cheese soup I have ever had. Swenson's closed down a few years ago. Why? I have no clue. I catch myself asking that once a month. Anyway, Brent's take on the cheese soup is spot on. It was just as good as I remember it being.

Egg and Olive Sandwich. One of my friends who always gets the worst looking thing on the menu decided to order the Egg and Olive sandwich. I'm sure it was great, but really? An Egg and Olive sandwich?

Double Cheeseburger w/ Fries. Now we are talking. The burgers here are fantastic! I suggest just going for a single burger, that way you have room for a milkshake instead of an extra patty that wastes space.

Philly Cheese Steak w/ Fries. One of my favorite Philly's in town.

Wild Card. Half Cheeseburger Half Philly. Can't beat this for lunch.

There was no room for a Cookies and Cream milkshake which was sad. Definitely plan on getting one next time.

Soulshine Pizza

Soulshine Pizza Factory

Soulshine is a great pizza restaurant in Ridgeland. I hadn't been there in a while so decided to take a co-worker who was in town from Dallas to check it out. It was pretty packed and had folks waiting on a table by the time we left. Soulshine always has a great atmosphere and good tunes playing.

They have TV's everywhere so you can always watch a game here.

I always get the pizza deal at lunch. A pizza, crawfish bisque, and a drink for $10.50, Not bad....

Not sure what all is in here but it is delightful. Not many other soups I would order when it is 100 degrees outside.

Kitchen Sink never lets you down. It is basically their supreme pizza and my usual go to.

My coworker went with the Mediterranean and I was pretty jealous once it came to the table. I really wanted to throw out the splitting option but decided to keep that to myself and enjoy the kitchen sink. He ate all of it so I imagine he enjoyed it. If it tastes as good as it looks then I am sure it was pretty solid.
