Ding How

Ding How - Takeout

Sometimes there is just nothing better than some Chinese food takeout. I highly recommend splitting entrees with some folks because you get kinda sick of sweet and sour chicken after a while and they give you too much food. I was pretty impressed with Ding How and really like to reuse their plastic containers.

DING HOW ASIAN BISTRO

3 salads, 6 egg rolls, sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken, 3 egg drop soups, 3 fried rice, pink sauce = leftovers

Sauces

Shrimp Egg Rolls

Mongolian Beef might have been my favorite

Can't beat Sesame Chicken. This is always the Hamburglar's go to at Chinese restaurants.

Sweet and Sour Chicken without sweet and sour sauce.

Egg drop soup was pretty gross in texture but tasted great.

"That looks incredible" - your thoughts

Thanks Ding How for making me feel awful after eating all of this.

Rooster's

Rooster's - Fondren

Rooster's has one of the better burgers in Jackson in my opinion. It use to be located on Highway 51 in the log cabin but moved here a few years ago. Great place to stop by and get a burger or a chicken sandwich.

Glenn Foods

Simple menu

Order and sit down place. I wish all restaurants were set up this way.

Lots of outdoor seating however it was too hot that day to be enjoyable.

Yep, their onion rings are on point. Definitely give these things a try when you go.

Half of a Bacon Cheeseburger. They have ketchup, mustard, and mayo out so you put your own condiments on the sandwiches. I am pretty lazy so I wish they went ahead and put them on the burger, but at least it allows you to be aggressive with your sauces.

Half of a Fried Chicken Sandwich. This was one of the better fried chicken sandwiches I have had in a while. My roommate got pretty aggressive with the mayo which didn't upset me at all. He and I split the burger, chicken sandwich, and onion rings. I was very satisfied with the meal and also caught a glimpse at some chicken tender plates that looked pretty solid. I imagine if you are a chicken strip fan you need to check this place out.

Flip Burger

Flip Burger - Birmingham, AL

Erin and I went to Birmingham last weekend to visit my new nephews. My brother and his wife had twins a couple of weeks ago so we finally were able to make a trip over from Mississippi.

My brother threw out the idea of a burger boutique which I thought was weak, but I kept my mouth shut and trusted his judgement due to the amount of hamburgers he has consumed in his lifetime. This place was delicious!

Flip burger boutique

The menu is simple and has tons of different and creative options.

Our view from the table wasn't bad.....

My nephews decided to come with us. (Bo and Charlie)

Bo went with Good People IPA and it was fantastic. My brother said it was a local beer and I was very impressed.

Erin went with a Yuengling. Weird.

Charlie had a Jackamo IPA

"Is that egg yolk that just busted?" Yes, and I was extremely jealous of my brother. At this point I gave him a head nod saying, "well done bro, well done" He went with the Chorizo Burger.

My mom and sister in law went with the Southern Burger. My mom got fried okra and they were incredible.

Erin got the Butcher's Cut which was blue cheese and onions. This thing melted in your mouth and left you wanting more. I only had one bite but will most likely try this one when I come back.

I had the Lamburger with goat cheese. I love melted goat cheese and it might be my favorite type of cheese. This burger was definitely one of the more creative burgers that I have ever had.

Nutella Milkshake was shared by the table to complete a wonderful lunch. When the waiter brought it out it was steaming from something they spray on it which was pretty cool. I will definitely be back here next time I come back. Very hip place.

Sal and Mookie's

Sal and Mookie's

Sal and Mookie's is a great place for some pizza and beer. It also has a wonderful family atmosphere and great porch seating. I decided to tag along as a 7th wheel for this dinner and had a great time believe it or not. This place rarely let's you down and is great restaurant to go to with a big group. I had a birthday dinner here a few years ago with about 20 or so folks and it was great.

Sal & Mookie's New York Pizza & Ice Cream Joint

Menu is pretty solid and the burgers and pasta are great. A little overpriced on the pizza and not very friendly for solo folks who want pizza. As long as you go with someone who wants to split a pizza you'll be good to go. Just get the regular size because it is huge!

Spinach and Artichoke dip. I think that first picture speaks for itself.

Wings. I always enjoy wings from pizza joints.

Chicken Parmigina sandwich. Two of my friends went with this and both enjoyed it. It looked pretty amazing.

Shock Top Lemon Shandy

IPA

I can't remember which pizza this is but it looked pretty good.

I had a kids slice of pepperoni and cheese because I wanted pizza and didn't want to pay a bunch for way too much pizza for myself. I was very satisfied after borrowing one of the girls ranch from the wings to dip my pizza in.

Rockaway Beach Pizza

Enviro Napkins. Thanks for going green Sal and Mookie's but your napkins suck. It's almost like they repel water and pizza sauce. I appreciate your green mindset, however my face and pants didn't.

One of my friends went with the chocolate chip cookie dough.

My pregnant friend's creation.
